About us

Mr Jonathan (Jon) Callen BSc (Hons) Podiatry MRCPod POMS DPM

We are based within the Eastleigh area and have been established since 1996. People will consult a Podiatrist/Chiropodist for many reasons. Treatment for corns, callus and fungal or difficult nails are well known. However, we offer more than the core Chiropody treatments.

Nail surgery to remove or correct a painful ingrown, deformed or an intermittently troublesome nail is a popular technique for resolving these problems.

Orthoses (insoles), individually made or selected, are able to improve foot and lower limb function and posture. These are often prescribed to treat common problems such as heel pain, forefoot pain, plantar fasciitis or ankle pain and instability. Foot orthoses can also help knee pain and "bunions".

We are pleased to see patients with medical conditions which make their feet vulnerable such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis or poor circulation. For these patients we will give advice and suggest a care plan.

Patients may seek advice regarding infections such as athlete's foot or verrucae or for various foot health or footwear concerns. Each person is individual.

We appreciate some patients are anxious about seeking treatment. Therefore we will do all we can to put you at ease. Patients of all ages are welcome, from children to those of advanced age.

Jon is a Podiatrist registered with the Health Professions Council and is also a member of the Royal College of Podiatry. He has over 30 years of experience working in private practice and the NHS. Jon graduated from Plymouth University. Surefoot also has two lady practitioners, Alison Callen and Janet Wright, both also registered with the above professional bodies. We appreciate that some patients may prefer to see a lady. In addition Rob Footitt is our specialist in musculoskeletal foot and lower limb conditions. Carefully selected locum podiatrists may work with us from time to time.

We are happy to visit patients at their home, although this would usually be for less mobile patients who find getting to one of our clinics difficult.
